"Sarah Zelmati's work is above all a 'wild' and impulsive practice, she obeys her own logic of creation independently of her field of production. She mainly uses objects that I hunt for or collect on the street, sometimes they are also objects used in creative hobbies or kits for making art, intended for children. The result is extravagant, colorful, figurative and sometimes absurd shapes that testify to an uninhibited practice and a real pleasure in doing. Art is often considered prestigious or noble, so she tends to play with these notions by using inexpensive elements that imitate the precious but are often worthless objects or elements."
